Default Cerifit WS6 hoods

are they fiberglass like they are supposed to be? like for an LT1 style hood. does anyone know if these are any good?

OEM hoods aren't fiberglass they are made of a compound called SMC.

whats smc? is it as light as fiberglass? and is the certifit made of it?

I know a couple guys that own bodyshops and both have said they avoid Certifit or only use them as a last, desperate source. As stated before, they're cheap for a reason.

SMC or Sheet Molding Compound is a composite material. And it's not any lighter than fiberglass.

i have one...you will have to do some bodywork. they do not fit like a oem. i have about 8 hrs in it. havent painted it yet but its on the car and jambed out "painted underside"Cerifit WS6 hoods-picture-077.jpgCerifit WS6 hoods-picture-081.jpg

well how off is it? i already figured it wasnt going to follow the curves as well, like most aftermarket hoods, but other then that how is it? was the fit just god awful?

if you have to have 8 hrs in making a hood fit, i wouldnt go near it

well i know its not going to be perfect. i just want to know if the gaps will be close to normal, and as long as the hood does rub

I was thinking about getting one from CertiFit, but heard some things about how they're way off from the OEM hoods. A buddy of mine got a Cobra hood for his GT and it wasn't off like we'd thought it be.

i would save for an oem or just spend thehood money plus paint and body work money on something else for sure. F certifit.

it dont rub, dont fit like oem. doesnt bother me. after the body work looks good. just dont think that it will be ready for paint when you get it.
