Default Lt1 vs Ls1 front

Just as the title says, I'm debating on whether to change over front ends or not.

Here is a link to a thread where current pics of my car can be found.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...512&highlight=

The deal is that right now; I have that ws6 looking hood on my car since my stock hood came to a dramatic end. I was trying to sell the hood, but this guy that a friend knows has an lt1 car that the previous owner switched over to ls1 front. He ,for some weird reason, wants the lt1 front end back. I was thinking about switching him just so I can get away from the "camel toe" hood.

So I was just looking for everyone's opinion and also kinda what I'm getting myself into.

get rid of the hood and buy the lt1 ws6 hood. i like the ls1 front end better actually but i think it should only be on the ls1 trans ams.

Well see, the camaro right now has the "ws6" looking ram air hood on it now. I was kinda just looking to sell it, but that guy offered me his whole front end for mine with the hood... straight up.

I was just curious if it was a good deal or not.

my bad i thought we were talking about a trans am here. stupid me. personally i like the lt1 front end way better then the ls1 front end no questions asked. ifit were me i would get a cowl hood or ss hood before swapping to the ls1 front end. i think just sell the hood on here or keep it as a spare and buy a new hood. but yo answer your question yes if his front ends in good condition its a good deal but remember getting an entire front end painted will cost a lot more then a hood.

Well see my entire car will get re-painted this winter plus i've almost got my engine back in my s10 so here in a few weeks, the camaro won't be my dd. So i think that I will try and meet up with the dude and check out his front end.

Dude never called. Oh well, maybe he will in a day or so. I think it all depends on how his front end looks.

oh yeah, does anyone know exactly what I need from the other guy and what all he needs from me because basically he told me that his car doesn't run. He had some dude "build" him a 383 and apparently the guy didnt do a good job. So if we make the trade, I will be taking off all of my parts and taking them to him and he will have his parts taken off and we will just swap part from part.

I've already 98.9% decided that the end result color this winter will be MMM, regardless if I get the 98 front or not.

I def would keep it LT1! hands down. I am currently working on my car to get it ready for some fresh paint. I have a new cowl hood that looks awesome. Lt1 fronts look more bad *** when done up right I think. But if you want that more modern look then LS1 is the way to go. I like em both in the end but I think it looks funny when you have the wrong front end on the wrong car, you see the interior and tail lights and know right away it doesn't belong.

See like the main reason that I was wanting to do the swap is because all I will have in the swap is more or less my labor. We are trading straight up so I really won't be losing any money just time

yeah but why bust up your knuckles like that for minimum gain? Want people to think you have an LS1?

Well, mod the motor not the front. LT4 intake, good cam, then tune, ect ect.

Oh yeah paint first. LT1 cars look great. LS1 cars look great. They are both good in their own ways.

If you want to do it then go ahead. Its just a lot of work for a real minimum gain if you want my opinion.
