The new pics of the painted flames look great. I will have to look at old pics to see how different the new ones are. Really stinks you had to wait this long but it looks awesome, and sounds like you are happy with them as well.
Yeah, I would talk to your neighbor about the painter/graphic guy about the additional cost. I know you didn't sign nothing and were quoted 1k, but making more trips back and forth to the shop should not be an additional charge to me. When I do side work, and give someone a price, the only additional thing I would charge them for would be materials, if I go over the time I think it would take I will eat that, guess I am to nice.

Glad to here Tim is okay as well, look like he got hit pretty good.

Looks really nice! I was wondering how hard it would be to try to match up the flames on the hood to the fenders. He did a great job! You have a great looking bird!

Thanks. I'm anxious to see it in the sun .

Jeff. Thanks too. Yeah it's just taking so long to get this done. I didnt know the graphic guy had another job and only could come into the shop in the evenings. I just hope I can get the price down. I'm going to call the neighbor in a few.

I like the flames, good job!!

sorry to hear they raised the price, if it was my shop I'd be eating the cost since I'd rather have you only pay what was quoted, but thats me.

Hope you get your car back soon.

Looks great. It's nice to see another bird with well fitting flames. That sucks they upped the price on you. They need to eat the difference. Your paying alot less then I did for mine. But we did all my flames at once and recleared the whole front of the car.

Thanks for the compliments. Too bad you arent closer Hybrid86Z or you could've done them! As far as the price I'm going to see what I can do when I pick up the car. Maybe they can take $200 - $250 off. They cant expect someone to be prepared or able to have $500 just laying around. I'd already told them I had a budget and the reason I went with them was their initial price. There were other shops I could've went to and gotten pricing.

Frozen WS6.... If I would've had to redo the all the flames it would've been about $2500- $3000. Can you PM some pics of your car to me? I would like to see the flames

PM sent. Heres another pic of mine. I wish mine cost $3000. There are only two guys I trust to touch my car, so I had to pay their price. But I have no tape lines. Which is nice because I don't cut my hands when I wash or wax my car.

Frozen WS6.....great flames and thanks for the other pics . I replied back to you.

torquejunky....I will def get pics of it in the sun. To do the flames like I have is harder. Its a process called "pouncing" where they make the flames on paper then put tiny holes in it with this rotary tool. They then go over the holes with chalk and then they flames are on the car. Here's a couple pics of someone doing this and an entire flame job . It's pretty cool!

I found out that the pinstriping and shadow were done Thursday and then cleared Friday. They will wetsand and clear again on Monday.

Yeah I've seen guys do that before when they want everything perfectly symmetrical, I usually only do ghost flames where you don't want them to be perfect or smaller stuff like helmets where it's easier to just use tape.

I'm not up to speed on who's who in the paint world that far east. You could always plan a road trip/vacation and have Mike do it. If I have to redo my car I'm shipping it the 3,000 miles to seattle to have it done. Yep, he's that good. Feel free to check out his web site.

Toxik.....someone just had their hood done by Tru-Colors in MD. He also posted a pic of some ghost flames that were done there.

Thanks Frozen. If we ever happen to venture up north to AK we'll make sure to tell ya .
