Hey guys,

My hood is faded on my T/A. There really isnt a perfect section to put this in, but ifigured if anyone is going to know it'd be you guys. Is there any specific type of polish that'll get down the good paint? My hood is a different color (lighter) than the rest of my car.

Not sure how bad it is, but maybe using porter cable buffer and zaino could work. Otherwise you may need something that could really bring back the shine like a buffing compound with a rotary buffer then go over it with a good polish. If you dont know how to buff then have a professional detail shop do it.

 

rubbing compound first, then a really good wax job. why not just have it painted?

Unless you're using a buffer w/ an aggressive wool pad you wont hurt anything. Just keep it moving and you'll be fine.

 

yeah.. for safety and limited experience. I would suggest using a 8-10" orbital buffer. They sell for under 20 and are pretty fool proof.

 

i have a rotary buffer w/ a wool/foam pad. I've used it a decent amount of times and really wouldn't see how i'd mess up lol. I'm gonna hit the paint up first thing tomorrow
