im not really mad cause its on my beater car its a saturn but still. i told my cousin id give him 10 bucks to go wash my car him not knowing aby better hes 11, took a sponge from my kitchen and was scrubbing with the brillo side. i caught him before he did the hole car he only did the roof. i tried some compound i had on the scratches it helped but they are still threre. you cant feel them but you can see them they are like scuffs. is there any over the counter stuff that can fix this?

LOL, no dude, a clay bar will not help his situation.
What you need to do is get a porter cable buffer and some buffing compound and buff that **** out. it's gonna take you some time man, but stick with it.
You could also try to wet sand it, but that takes a bit of skill. there is plenty of info on this forum to direct you in both process'.
You could even try to just throw some nice thick wax on it. Most waxes remove light surface scratches.
No offense to the dude that suggested clay bar, but those are really just to remove contaminants, not surface scratches...

porter cable and compound? thats about the best you can do. scratchv will work for those really fine surface scratches.
another option is to wet sand, which is pretty easy, you just have to be careful, use 2000 grit sand paper and lots of water. wrap a sponge in the sand paper and use that to press down, DO NOT use your fingers, and basically jsut wipe the surface while keeping it VERY wet. im sure others can chime in with some better detailed info on wet sanding, but it takes some practice.

battery powered buffers will not work. you need a professional compounding buffer, like the pros use. I would suggest like what has been mentioned.
2000 grit
compound (like perfect it from 3M) + buffer
should look better than the rest of the car when its done lol.

Sounds like you're hosed no matter what you use. If you go down far enough to get all the scratches out you're likely to buff through the clear. Take care, and keep an eye out for going too deep.
It can come back to haunt you later when the worst part of the clear starts to come up from being overheated and delaminating (don't ask how I know) or tiny rock chips allow infiltration of water and such under the clear.
