New - Prospeed Porsche BIG RED GT3 Big Brake Kit Category: Brakes
Price: $1600
Part Fits: 93-02 Chevrolet Camaro, 93-02 Pontiac Firebird
Location (State): NJ
Item Condition: Used
It's for 1993-02 Camaro Firebird application
and apapts Porsche GT3 calipers and rotors on to our cars.
Everything is still new and the kit includes:
1 pr Porsche 996tt/GT3 4 piston monobloc calipers
1 pr Porsche 996tt/GT3 330 x 34 mm 13" x 1.34" cross-drilled rotors
1 pr Prospeed Aluminum caliper adapters
1 pr Prospeed Aluminum hub adapters
1 set Mounting hardware
1 set of stainless steel brake lines
Price is $1600 for everything as listed above,
anyone interested can pm me for pictures or look up this kit.
PS I would have change item condition to new but under the new system here it won't let me do that, but the kit is new as in never used.

this is an insanely good price for this type of product. Michael Wacholz ran Prospeed and went on to develop GS610 brake fluid which was a premium fluid used in many professional road racing teams. The 330mm rotors were Alcons which by themselves are worth over $800. The 996tt monobloc calipers cannot be sourced for less than $800 wholesale anymore.

the porsche rotors and pads will out last
the regular stuff by like 2-3 times maybe even more
depending on how aggressive you drive.
I would not be surprised if the rotors last you the whole time you own the car.

the porsche one is a monoblock (one piece) design Vs
the caddy's which is two pieces mated together
the porsche one has larger pistons Vs the
the caddy's which is smaller
the porsche one has a center one pin quick release for swapping pads so you don't necessarily have to remove the caliper to swap in new brake pads.
the porsche caliper also has a larger pad for greater surface area coverage over the caddy's
this kit also will clear 17" wheels where as the caddy set up will not.
the rotors are also thicker measuring at 1.34"

I thought the same thing.
people will spend 3x that to go faster
and stay with their stock brakes
I'll probably just part it out and sell everything
to the Porsche folks.....just hate joining a new
forum just to sell brake calipers and rotors.

this kit is new so I don't have any of it installed.
do a search for Mov'it they used the same parts.
differences between the Baers 6 pot:
mine will clear 17" wheels
rotor is thicker and much beefier
more pad to rotor surface area
pads are easier to find, more selection
and also less expensive to replace
my calipers weigh less

you are wrong on the C5 pads.
they don't use the C5 pads and the Baer's use there own pads from Baer and are completely different in shape and size from the C5's
here is a picture of what one of these kits look like.
mine is the same and all boxed up to go,
only thing missing is the pictures of the rotors

I thought you meant the Baer 6S calipers.

But I am partial to Baer, and the Baer 6 piston monoblock is also a very potent break system. I have a Baer setup for my Z in my sig. Fortunatly they also use the same pad thats on a 95 Cobra and thus easy to find and fairly cheep to replace. Much like the 6S calipers, even though the pad is small (relatively speaking, as most would not consider it small unless comparing to a much larger setup), the stopping power of the 6 piston caliper is amazing.
I wish there were an actual way to measure the braking potential of different caliper setups to really stack them against each other. I have rode in a Willwood 6 piston setup, and it was crap compared to a Brembo setup, which was slightly less potent to a Baer 6 piston setup. Thats why I would be more than content with the 6S calipers. But all the other items you mentioned are other good reasons for your setup.

I don't think there is anyone on this board that have spent more money or have handled and messed with more brakes and brake kits than I have.
Like I said earlier, the pad area on the Porsche pads are the biggest I have seen and also another advantage is that you can quickly change out pads with out needing to remove the caliper. The pads on the Porsche calipers come out from the top via a quick pin release.
We are talking seconds to change pads as opposed to at best minutes on a Baer set up. Where the pads need to come out from the bottom after the calipers are first unbolted.
Also my Prospeed set up can work with either
LT1 or LS1 application.
Not even the Baer's can claim that.

seriously, while it's hard to spend on brakes, you cannot afford to not buy these if you have a car that is even reasonably fast. These brakes will do the job. replacement rotors are around 120 last I checked, there is a multitude of brake pads available. 17x11 ZR1s will fit or you can get some 18x11 or 18 10.5 w/315s and still be able to lock up the tires... which I couldn't do with the LT1 brakes and 275s. this is a really good deal guys, jump on it! I've not seen anything to date that makes me think the similar GM setup is as worthy or cheap for replacement parts. let alone race proven if you are hot lapping.
69TA may want to try frrax as those guys are more oriented to the parts you're selling
