For sale is the HPTuners VCM Suite (includes VCM Scanner and VCM Editor) with the serial interface. This is not MPVI. Just want to make sure that's clear up front. The HPTuners Interface cables and box are tested and work perfectly. For those worried about the serial interface, my laptop no longer has a serial port, so I had to use a serial -> usb converter cable, and it worked splendidly. I no longer have the original software discs, but the programs can be downloaded from the HPTuners website once I give the buyer the serial # and password.

Freebies:
- When I bought this, the seller threw in a wideband O2 sensor AND LC-1 control module for free, so I'm doing the same. The catch though, is that they're not verified functioning. The person who gave them to me couldn't get it to work, and I was never able to try, so I'm including them instead of throwing them away because they very well may work, and throwing them away is a waste.
- Engine Management: Advanced Tuning by Greg Banish. I don't need it anymore, so more free stuff for the buyer.

So, please buy! You can't get these unlimited licenses anymore, so this is perfect for someone with a shop.

This means, unfortunately, that upgrades from the serial -> MPVI Pro interface are no longer being offered. The price listed in the email for the upgrade was $199 + shipping and tax, for the curious.

The silver lining is that this particular one is licensed for unlimited 1999 F-bodies, so there's no worries about purchasing credits or any other such thing.

So how does what you have differ from what someone would buy if they went and bought hptuners brand new?

 

Two ways, to the best of my knowledge.

1) Serial interface, as opposed to MPVI. I found this old thread on the HPtuners forum for what that entails.

2) This uses the old licensing system. Instead of purchasing credits which allow you to tune vehicles, this one can tune an unlimited number of 1999 year V8 Firebirds and Camaros.

No, this is licensed for 1999 V8s only.

Since support is no longer provided for the serial interface, I don't think you'd be able to buy additional licenses, either.
