What is the origin of the engine (why the low miles)?
Are the pistons just stock bore (I assume so since it's such low mileage)? What is the CR and why were the pistons installed?
Which "small Comp cam" is in it?

Motor was installed in my sons Z28. His shifter cable broke earlier in the week, I had advised him to use the Ebrake until said cable could be replaced. Well, before we had he opportunity to fix the problem, he went home for a few minutes to take care of some business. Upon going back outside, car had rolled down a steep hill and hit a tree in the left rear, hence totaling it out.
The motor started out as a new ls6 block, had a used crank, used rods, but no pistons. Purchased new wiseco 3.89 bore pistons, installed ARP rodbolts, turned crank .010, balanced entire assembly. Purchased new 243 heads, installed new Yellow springs, new valves. Installed small comp cam, I have cam card at work. Motor was installed, and less than 5 months later, well you know the story.
Any more questions?

So the pistons are basically just stock replacement pistons? The ol' govt computer I'm using won't download Wiseco's catalog, so I can't see what specs they offer until I get home later. Do you know if they retain the stock CR?
I blew my LS6 at VIR this weekend, and since GM no longer offers the LS6 crate motor, I'll be looking for a used one.
