HRE/Mallett Motorsports Twin 5-spoke Polished Forged Alloy Wheels. These were designed by Chuck Mallett (Berea, Ohio) and forged by HRE for him. You can not find these wheels sold by any retailer other than Mallett Motorsports Ltd and are extremely rare. Mallet has these listed as $4395.00 set of 4 wheels only. The front tires retail for $385.00 each and the rear tires retail for $493.00 each. The total price new would have been $6151.00 not including Ohio sales tax.
I believe my father paid full price (not smart I know). If you are not interested in these wheels, please keep your opinions to yourselves.
The front wheels are 18X9.5 with Pirelli PZero Rosso 275/35/ZR18 (95Y) Tires.
The rear wheels are 19X10.5 with Pirelli PZero Rosso 305/30/ZR19 (98Y) Tires.
Weight: Front wheels with tires are 46lb each. The rears with tires are 53lb each. I would say they are very light for the wheel dimensions.
They are a 3 piece forged design, with the functional bolt/rivets hidden on the backside of each wheel (see pics). Smooth center caps, no tacky logo.
Ordered for my father’s ’03 Corvette Z06 that he bought new. The Corvette was all original, except for these wheels which we bolted on for the short cruises during the summer. No salt touched these wheels, were kept polished/waxed and stored in our heated garage. The wheels fit his C5 Z06 with no wheel well modifications, and just a ˝ inch spacer on the rear. No spacer needed for fronts. Never rubbed on brake ducts or elsewhere, including steering lock to lock.
I can conservatively state that these tires/wheels have less than 5,000 miles of use since my father's Corvette was sold with a total 7,400 miles earlier this year. The OEM wheels stayed on the car for it first 2 years/2500 miles of owning it. The tread depth of the tires are, Fronts@ 9/32” and Rears are 8/32” There are still nobbies on the edge of the contact patch, and absolutely no uneven wear. All four are high speed balanced smooth as they sit. There are no TPMS sensors.
The bad… 3 of the 4 wheels has some bit of curb rash(close pics below). My dad’s vision and boundary awareness (forgive him, he is older) isn’t always the greatest so he managed to kiss a couple curbs throughout the life of these wheels. He states they happened during his yearly visits to Woodward Ave Cruise in Detroit, Michigan and its crazy traffic situations. The rash is not deep and could be polished out by a professional. One of the front wheels also has a small dent on the inside lip (not visible when mounted). Otherwise they are in excellent condition. If you would like more pictures, let me know.
I have a 1994 Camaro with an LS1 swap, which I could attempt to bolt these wheels onto if someone wants an example of what it would take to do that. I am working on finding out the offset spacing of the wheels…

bump! The tires alone retail for $1750 new! This is a great deal on a complete set of lightweight, 3-piece forged wheels. I am basically giving them away at this price!

bump for a good price and amazing tire! I had these tires on my 94 Z28 and even in 18s they rode as good as the stock 16 wheel and tire combo, and handling was unbelievable wet or dry, I don't autocross but I never found the limit of those tires!!! and as he said that is a killer price because you will easily spend his asking price on 4 of those tires OTD mounted and balanced! GLWS

Entertaining all offers. I looked into having the curb rash polished smooth and it would cost at most $300 with a local wheel company here in Ohio.
