I have a set of AFR Heads and a Pat G spec cam I was going to use on my car. I decided I'm going to leave the car stock for a while.

One of the heads has indentions in it where a piston lifted a ring land and came a part. Nothing wrong with the heads, Just cosmetic that is un-seen when you bolt the heads on. The same head also had all the header bolts re-drilled and tapped for 3/8-16 bolts. The previous owner cross threaded all the header bolts on that head.

$1,700.00 for both heads and cam

not be busting your chops but wont those nicks hurt flow and cause detonation in the one cylinder it could be cleaned up but then again it would up the cc and the compression

Not understanding what you are asking? How would this effect flow and cause detonation?

Detonation is caused by fuel or timing.

Flow is determined by the amount the intake runners allows in and the exhaust port allow out. The surface of the head does not have anything to do with flow or detonation that I am aware of.

Or hot spots in the chamber which that damage would easily create with all of the edges.
That would need repaired.

Those heads are fine like that. Those nicks will fill with carbon deposits almost instantly.
