PM Farmer2 He makes these out of metal. I just bought one, for not much more than the cost of the cheap plastic one. The factory should have done it this way. Hell if I was him, I'd tell local dealerships about it.

I made one out of a coat hanger. Not that that answers your question, but it provides a cheap alternative.
