Question 3rd brake light

i need a third brake light lens for a 2000 SS. just the little red plastic piece that covers the LED 3rd brake light on the spoiler. apparently you can't get one from a dealership, have to buy whole assy. for $170...i don't think so .

I had a friend who worked in chevy parts dept and was gonna get me one at his cost which was still almost right at $100 just dont see paying that much for a foot long lightbulb so i unplugged it until their price is more reasonable. I wish someone on the boards would figure out how to fix these or add in their own LEDs for a good price

yeah, it's pretty stupid. my lights work fine, i just need the plastic lens. mine's dry rotted and cracked. if my bulbs were broke, i could almost justify the price, but it's still stupid...

I had the same problem...I just let go of my pride and paid the stealership to the tune of $184 after taxes.
