Default 04- CTS-V P0300/PO500 codes..help?

Well, this morning I started getting a misfire and then the car started dying on idle...when I limped it home and scaned it I get P0300 misfire code and also P0500 speed sensor codes? Pulled car into garage and now can't get it into R to back it out? What sensor do I need to get to fix this...I guess I was thinking that this was probably fuel related but with no R maybe it is the speed sensor? This is just a simple swap or something? Napa can't find a part number for speed sensor except for the one with the wheel bearing/hub assembly?

Any help?

id say you have a melted wire or blown fuse. Check your fuses. IT sounds like your reverse lockout solinoid is not working, You CAN force it into reverse, just press over REALLY hard till it clicks.

But would this code cause it to misfire? The car started missing really bad before the trans problem.?

A scan tool will tell you where the missfires are on what cly. If you loose power to one bank for coils, or injectors, and you lost power to the reverse lockout soloniod, So there is a loss of power to things. Check your 15amp ENG fuse. That supplies power to the Reverse lockout.

IF that isnt blown, Then you need to call me for a ecm. It MIGHT have water in the connectors. I HAVE seen that before.

Thanks for the info...it turned out to be a broken valve spring. Got that fixed and its now throwing the MAF code...on to the next thing now.
