swapping in a 97 ss motor (LT1) into my camaro now before the motor goes in i am putting on a set of pacesetter LTs and ORY and a drop in K&N filter and am going to be reusing the factory 3" slp exhaust (TOTL) do i need to get a tune for the header install i want to get the most out of my bolt ons if i do need a tune what do you guys recommend? also i am most likely going to put a cam in her down the road. and my last guestion is how will it sound with the LTs and stock slp exhaust

You have two choices: LT1 Edit and Tunercat, marketed by Jet. Of the two, I prefer Tunercat. It is currently available in two flavors, one with two licenses and one with four. Unless you are going to tune multiple cars, the first will do fine. AFA more licenses, it is Jet's way to charge more money, the s/w is unchanged, and you save no money upfront. I think that Jegs still has some with two.
You will also need scanning software to do data logging. I use Autotap, which is old, clunky, and rife with bugs. But it does the basics, and you can sometimes find used copies for sale online.
