from what I have gathered, the blue and white plugs if I am correct are the connections with a different pinout. the main thing I am concerned on is the wires that are not there. I have the pinouts for bothh 98 and 98 but there are some wires not on one that are on the other, sh.. is confusing..
I guess I am wanting to know what wires in those plugs to cross to get the thing to fire. I really only need a few of the connections to get it to run considering most of the accessories I dont have on my car. I also dont have the VATS deleted, not sure if that matters, but I made a resistor to take the place of the key chip.

Ok 98 I have done so may 98 stuff I can pretty much help ya out.
If you have a 98 body car 98 harnesses you can repin the engine harness and use a 2002 pcm to control it.
IF you have a 99+ car with 99+ wiring harnesses you can use a 98 engine and just swap out the 98 specific sensors for the 99+ counter parts.
There are so many if and and's to go into details.
PLease feel free to PM with with any specific questions.

Got my car started last weekend for the first time. Found the correct harness on Ebay. I have a complete 98 6-speed harness if anyone is needing one. Seems they are a bit hard to come by.

No the 98 camaro harness is completely different than the 99 and up. The interior, under hood harness, fuel tank and fuel pump are all different. I just went through this same problem and had to start over.

Hey guys, rather than starting a new thread I would rather bump this one. I have a 98 camaro and repinned the harness for a 0411. I purchased a few pcms from a guy who said one was a 02 camaro, but they both are for 4.3 blazer and jimmy. What is the best way to go about writing the correct OS to pcm. I still have 4 credits from my original purchase of HP tuners. I'd rather not have to purchase more. Sorry for noob question. Thanks

Pick up a stock 02 F-body file from the HPT repository and do a write entire to one of the 0411 PCMs. I would use a file that matches the transmission type you have. You will use all 4 of your credits though. You will have to license the 4.3 Blazer file in the PCM and the 02 F-body file you write to it. The only cheaper way would be if you know someone that has model year licenses for both and can put the F-body file in it for you to start with. Then you would only use 2 credits. I have the ability to do that.
Thanks for the quick reply. That's what I thought after searching but wanted to be sure. As for the the cheaper way I dont know anyone with a 01 blazer and 02 m6 camaro license.

I am running into the same problem as everybody, didnt do my research before starting my project. I have a 98 v6 firebird and bought a 99 z28 to rob everything from for the swap. I have swapped virtually everything(entire drivetrain, fuel tank, engine harness and ecu). I had the car running and as i recently learned the instrument cluster did not work. In my haste to get it done i swapped the in camaro dash harness, and now every time i hit the key to acces. the headlights turn on lol, which i just realized is because the firebird door circuit and camaro low beams are the same circuit. But when i hit the key the motor only bumps over but kills all power to the the car besides the running lights and will continue only to bump every few seconds. My main question is if i can use a 99+ trans am dash harness on the 99 z28 engine harness and ecu or if i have a complete cluster on my hands? And any other diagnosies or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Im about to loose my mind on top of freeze my *** off trying to get this thing together. Thanks

This is a great resource, but you would think someone would make an adapter right?
Thanks for the link, it is really helpful...

I've got a '98 I've been considering making the change to the 411 box for a few years now. I've done a lot of research and every option I'm aware of involves repinning. I don't think it is difficult though.

Were in the same boat but reversed here, we bought a very clean 98 T/A minus engine and trans, then we located a complete 02 engine, trans dropout and were working on it now. What we have on our car is 3 connectors under the dash on the 98 and the 02 engine pcm harness has only two plugs, I'm told it can be done but need to find out how. I'll be keeping a close eye on this hopefully we can both get it done...............Paul
