Default Predator - Locked or Unlocked???

I have an opportunity to buy a used Predator for a good price - but I want to make sure it is unlocked.

The owner sent me some screen shots, but I don't know if I can tell if it is unlocked - he says it is. He also says it has the most recent updates.

How can you tell?

Looks like the version is 2.12, don't know if that changes after updated or not. Mine is an earlier version which locks. On mine you can tell by selecting the options menu then scroll down to the last entry - it'll either say "Car Tune" or "Diablo Tune" (Last tune written to vehicle in the instructions). Diablosport will chime in when he sees your post.

how much you paying for it those things are a waste of time only good for when you have a ses light or something and want to know what it is and clear it out, otherwise I woulden't get it. I borught one worst thing I did was a waste of 300 bucks.

Thanks for your input - I'm guessing that a number of other members would disagree with your opinion???

I cant condone buying this thing used, since you will never really know if it is unlocked until it gets to your door, then if it is locked, it will cost you quite a bit to make it work again.

Also, this is an older tool, current units for GM can datalog and are internet updateable, and come with a 2 year warranty, the one shown here does not.

I'd seriously look into a new unit.

Thanks
Mike

No, 9rXX versions have the logging functions,. anything 2.XX does not.

Thanks Mike - and just to confirm, there is a ~ $100 charge to upgrade to the 9rXX version, right.

Some of the very early versions did have a problem with the gear change, but all you have to do is change the tire size settings. I still have the chart if anyone needs it.
