maf ???? ok we're running a 98 camaro with a 6.0 truck engine. has stock 317 heads, we have a procharger kit with a f1a on the car. we are using a slp maf. the issue tends to be with the blower belt on the car the maf seems to be all over the place. for example it will go from 2800hz up to 3400 and everyweres in between. and this would be with rpm not movin and tps not bein moved. it bein a bitch to tune. but when take the blower belt off it seems to smooth out and be semi normal. i've checked the intake(stock ls1) for leaks and don't seem to find any. any input would be apreciated. oh it does have a small cam 218/224 114+4. nothin crazy i don't see the cam being the issue.

ok let me ask someone with a blower car...look at your maf hz. do they jump around alot or does it have a smooth reading. thats all i need to know. cmon someone has to know somethin.
My MAF Hz jumps around a lot, it was worse on
one I heavily ported. The PCM should filter the
MAF input to produce a lot less jumpy airflow
and you want to be looking at the Dynamic
Airflow number, for low end tuning, which is the
thing that is used for fueling. The MAF Hz / airflow
should be a lot more stable at higher flows.
MAF would prefer to be in straight pipe and far
from the impeller as possible (if not on the inlet
side, though much blower-TB volume could add
some peculiar lag effects in that case).

The SLP MAF with the resistors on it tends to jump around more than others. I would rather use an 85mm (vette or truck) without the resistors myself. Or I have taken the resistors off a time or two and tuned the MAF table like that...

k thanks i just needed to know if what is happening is normal or not...thanks atleast now i know i'm not the only one that has had this issue. thanks i think i'm going to try a stock maf and see if it smooths out or not....
