EFILive Scan looses connection..
I have been having an issue lately when data logging. When I get over about 4000 rpm, the scan looses connection and needs to re-establish. I am yet to get a good data log. any thoughts?

V1 / V2 ? The V2 cable that goes from the interface to the data port on the vehicle can get worn out on the CAT 5 looking side that plugs into the V2 it'self from tuggin'.
Other than that, have you been using the same USB port on your laptop? Is that port getting worn out?
Been there done that on all of the above after tuning 100's of vehicles.
The V1 mini USB port side can get touchy as well.
Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you long time!

But have you opened up "properties" under the edit tab in the scan-tool and checked logging details to ensure everything's okay, and that you are able to scan logs for xxxxxx number of frames (in the frame limit window).

Thanks...
I found the problem. My ground for the LM-1 and the data port had a 53ohm difference between it and the bat ground. I adjusted this and "bingo", we are all cool now. Thanks everyone.

It has not did it again since I am using just the "Auto VE PIDs" only. I will try it again to make sure. The screen still locks a little, but loging does not stop like it did before and no green error bar. The computer is fairly new and does not have anyy issues, so I would not think it is a processing issue. If it was a processing issue, then why would opperation of the engine have an effect on such a linear process.

IMO if the issue started with the new laptop, then IMO the issue is with the USB ports/hardware etc.
You car is vibrating more at 3 - 4 grand that at idle.
As a test, get a rider to hold the laptop in their lap while scanning and see if it continues to occur. Test east port.
With my Toshiba - same issue as yours- dropping connections on all USB ports. The Net framework was corrupted. After repairing and reinstalling net framework the issue went away.

Tomorrow when it is nice I am going to try some WOT logs again.
