How do you know if HP Tuners is reading the wideband accurately

How do you know if HP Tuners is reading the wideband accurately
Yesterday I installed an AEM UEGO wideband gauge.
I ran a wire to the EGR pin on the ECM and configured HP Tuners to read from the gauges 0-5v reference.
The problem is, the numbers move too fast to be able to see them both at the same time.
How do you do it?
And for arguement sake, what if I had a high speed camera and recorded the gauge and the laptop screen, and played it back slow. Would there be a delay or is if was set up perfect would they read the same number at the same time?

When he tests the good sensor it will sit at 10:1
If I took the sensor out and got it to hold at 10:1 on the gauge and the laptop, would that prove it to be reading right through the entire range? Or just at full rich?
Would this be a good way to test it?

Going from how he tested both of the sensors, I would say that you could test yours the same. Something to consider: AFAIK, you will not be able to read the gauge accurately with a "stock" tune. I believe that once you data-log and get your fuel maps in better shape, the gauge will "mellow out" because your tune will be much more accurate.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here, cuz I just ordered my UEGO and will probably be having to deal with the very same thing.

Stock tune or not, it shouldn't matter. It reads fast. I had a different brand wideband that had an adjustable display rate (or whatever it's called) where you could get it to average out the ups and downs and display a more stabil number.
Looking at my scan histograms the average is where it needs to be.

Set the wideband to 2.5 volts for both high and low range and 14.0 afr. Open the hpt scanner and log it with the offset dialogue box open. Increase the offset up and down after watching what it averages after a few seconds. Restart the scanner and get a new average. Keep doing that until you get to 14.000 +- .05. Reset it to 0 to 5 volts and 10 to 18 afr with the new offset. Then see if cruising shows 14.6-14.7.
