o2 and egr will this cause missfires
A bad O2 can cause the fueling of the car to be off which in turn can cause misfires.
I'm a little less certain about the EGR. It affects the oxygen content of the a/f mix, but the O2 should still compensate for this. Perhaps someone else could shed more light.
If you are getting O2 & EGR codes and the car is misfiring, I would start with the O2 sensors.
excess timing (stock tables) when EGR is supposed
to be active. A stuck or "missing" EGR will leave the
excess timing without the EGR diluting the charge,
and you might see a lot more misfiring. The EGR
advance table would want zeroed if EGR has been
removed.
