Question What table takes care of this???

Car idles great on the highway and thru town but when I am at really slow speeds she wants to die on me.

98 Z A4, TR224/561 cam, TEA heads and a ST3800 stall.

Only happens when I gas it a little to move forward a few feet then the idle drops to like 200 and almost dies. The IAC counts are a steady 31 in gear and warmed up. Its really bad in reverse.

Kinda lost here.

Go into the throttle follower, decay table and increase the values to at least 1.00, but only for the low speeds. This will dampen the IAC so it dosen't over react and slow down the engine too quick.

Cal-I set mine to 31.I got this from a post you made a while back, but mine still does it.It is alot better than it was though.Should I go back and change them to 1? I'm talking about the '99 car below.Trying to get the perfect idle is really becoming a PIA.

On A4 cars I start simple.Idle timing tables and low rpm VE tables take care of about 90% of the idle in gear problems.

IACs of 31 in gear seem a little low. They ought to be around 50-55 in gear and around 30 in park.

I set mine to 31 because that is almost the max value you can put in there (I think 31.99 would be the max.) But since then others have said 1.00 is the theoretical max. I don't know if there would be a difference. Yeah I know, it doesn't totally solve the problem, but it sure helps. That combined with a 950 idle and some VE adjustment solved my problems, but some people with A4s may not want to go that high (with the idle speed.)

The problem I've seen with the IAC is it doesn't have enough range once you put in a cam. I.E. if you get the low values right, then the high values are off and vice versa, especially if you use your A/C. I think what we really need here is a ported IAC; I'm going to be looking into seeing if that is possible. I think that would help the cold start surging quite a bit.
