Default Pleaseee help , trying to get car running with diablosport tuner

Hey guys i have a 99 Z28 that i just put a custom grind cam in it (236/242, 112LSA, 590 Life). Its a cam only car , long tube headers, through open catback cutout. I have a diablosport predator tuner , and basically i am trying to get thecar to stay running when i drive. Sometimes it starts and stays idling fine others it wont unless u give it gas. The major other problem is basically when you drive when you let off the gas to stop at a light or stop sign the car most of the tim will cut off. I tried raising the idle it helps but mostly still same situation. The only other thing is the car backfires like a mother *** untiilit passes 3k rpms. Does anyone know what i can change on the tuner to get it running right. Or have a tune i can download and use?

To be honest, you really need to go get it dyno tuned by someone who has tuned ls1's good before. I have no experience with a diablo predator handheld tuner but i seriously doubt the tuner can do anything like hptuners, ls1edit, efi live ect. to clean up the idle so it will have a smooth idle. Good luck man sorry i am not much help.

Thanks but I'm sure someone has a tune I can use or at least knows how to fiddle with the programmer to get it to run.

Really depends on the Predator model, the old ones
wouldn't touch what you need to modify (unless you
had that mail-order tune software that RWTD used
to support users with). You might check around the
InterWebz for a user group dedicated to Predators
(?). For the most part they seem to be ignored
when it gets to serious tune time, as far as I've seen.

Your problems are base running airflow (RPM doesn't
cut it, loop is too slow) and low-RPM mixture (VE
table). If you can't see these on your screens or
find a canned tune to upload, you have to find a
more capable tool.

To get the car to run right, you will need custom tuning.

Any of our CMR dealers can build you a file that will make the car run perfectly. Best bet is to find a local dealer from our website and get it to them for a tune on the dyno.

They'll use our CMR software to build you a tune and then load it right to your Predator.

Thanks
Mike
