Default Launch Control w/ HP Tuners?

I've recently read that EFI Live has a Valet mode that can be used as a launch control. And it works the same as the rev limiter in that it cuts fuel.

I'm interested in this because I have cats on my car and I need a launch control at the track as it's a M6. And the aftermarket 2 steps cut spark and not fuel which will kill my cats.

I already own HP Tuners and would like to know if I can set it up as a launch control to work the same as EFI Live.

Thanks guys!

Not to my knowledge, the factory rev limiters suck in regards to being a "2 step" type of device.

Does the stock limiter suck because it cuts fuel? Or does it suck because it does a crappy job a controlling the fuel cut?

I'm looking for an effective fuel cut device that I can use as a launch control so that my cats will live.

Anyone?

It does a crappy job of controlling the fuel cut, very lazy response.

That makes sense.

So my question now is, how is EFI Live able to claim the use of a stock computer for the use of a launch control?

Does their OS upgrade speed up the stock computer to better control the fuel cut?

I'm honestly not exactly sure what they do...I know they wrote custom code to get it to work better than stock however.

Most tuning software companies are small in size, for instance I'm the only support tech for hptuners so answering emails all day keeps me busy, adding phone support into the mix would likely mean an additional 2 more staff members which would eventually equal more costs passed onto the consumer.

Thats not really an excuse for them not getting back to you via emails though, we are pretty good at that IMO.

A really nice guy by the name of Ira called from EFI Live and he said to post this question on the EFI Live forum....

I'll let you guys know what kind of response I get...

If nothing else, I guess I'll spend the labor/cash to remove the cats...
