toasted PCM.. fu*king awesome ill try to keep it short. anyway i was tuning for the new cam and i went up to this guys work at around 8:00 at night to tune with ls1 edit. tune for about an hour making runs up and down the street and setting the idle and whatnot im in a hurry to get out and leave but he wants to do one last adjustment. i pull over in the median turn my keys in the on position and start uploading the new data. then 95% done and the laptop dies cause of battery power!!!!!! ******* awesome. my puter is fried. try to start it nope never. so he has to call a friend to pick him up to take him to his truck that has an ls1 in it and yank his puter out and stick it in mine. its super cold out and my hands are frozen trying to get this damn puter to sit right in the tray that it lays in.after about 20 minutes with numb hands finally goes in and drive it back to his work. we try for 2 hours to set the computer back to my settings by my car doesnt like it and is sounding like **** sputtering and the cam was putting and making the car gallop like a horse. anyway nothing works so i drive it home carefully. the car is running so bad that from takeoffs from a stop the car jumps to bad the the headers slap up against the bottom of the car pretty bad until i hit about 10 mph. next day sat. i meet up w/ him in the morning and he has a new computer but its not a gm one so his laptop wont even connect to the computer that we put in. the car starts to make a light tapping noise. i take it over to lethal performance and i find out that i broke a valve spring. one good thing though is that i didnt bend the valve! anyway can anyone say theve had a shittier weekend?
Same thing happened to me back around 10-13-03. Not fun to say the least; I drove around with an A4 PCM ( I'm an M6 ) for 2 weeks before getting it resolved. I feel your pain man, sorry to hear about it.
I went and bought a "core" PCM from
Valvegod and had the dealer flash it to
my car during my last oil change. I only
am using the Predator, but still it's a nice
peace-of-mind thing to have on the shelf.
Like I need more stuff on the shelves....

Holy crap, you have to have the cake for the worse weekend...I imagine theres horror stories about totalling a car etc...but your s is painful....all from a little Li Ion battery! Bet you feel like killing the makers of that little battery huh?
