Question Tuning Question about IAT Sensor

My 408 is dyno tuned ,It is a MAF Open loop only tune and my Fuel trims are turned off.My Question is Does my car still use the IAT sensor for fuel and timing? Thanks!

Yes, and IAT swings the fueling pretty wide as it's
a prime factor in air mass calcs. Unreasonably wide.
You may want to consider relocating it to a place
that sees no engine bay air, and maybe isn't black
(I just put mine up into the fresh air vent at the
cowl, but see it at 115F cold-motor, parked in sun).
Front bumper may be better though more wire.

Thanks Jimmy ,we have been having alot of high temps and humidity lately and my car is really down on power.I think I will try this and try the timing tricker to see if it helps...

I have relocated my IAT sensor right in front of my windshield washer fluid resevoir. Got rid of those nasty lean idle conditions when the IAT would heatsoak at a stop or when the car sat in a parking lot for a few minutes. Seems to be a great area, either that or put it around your drivers side headlight.

My IAT is in the fog light hole.Makes the car alot more consistant at the track.

Regardless of how the IAT effects the tune, heat and humidity just make for less power even if the tune it right.

If you use the timing trick then moving the sensor is irrelevant because it will just read a set value that won't change.

You can also get IAT extensions in 12", 24" and 36" lengths for around $30.
