Default How to get VSS back into PCM??

I recently put a 4L80e in my 2004 GTO using a standalone TCI controller. My car's PCM no longer gets the VSS signal because it goes into the standalone controller. I want to get that signal back into the stock computer so that I can do some logs of RPM vs speed. I tried tee'ing into the VSS off of the trans and going back into the stock VSS plug to no avail. Any ideas?

Also I just thought of this, I wonder if the TCI software can log RPM vs speed because it had both already... hmmm... I'll have to check when I get home.

Thanks,
Adam

Why didn't you use the stock PCM to control the 80e? It only involves 5 wires and a reflash.

The GTOs PCM cannot control a 4L80e. There is no segment for the 4L80e that uses the same OS as the GTO.

So the TCI controller was cheaper than swapping to a GM PCM that could control the motor and 4L80E? Why not just swap in a PCM that can do what you want?

Gto pcm cannot control a 4l80 like the fbody pcm. At least it wasn't possible when I did the swap.

Could you not swap to a f-body pcm and get what you want?

The gtos use a totally different pcm so it would require a whole harness swap among other things. It's just not worth it. Once I figure this problem out the car will be perfect. It drives perfect now the only reason I wanna do this is to use some different features of the pcm.

I PMd you about a year ago. I have a 2004 GTO tune with a 4l80e segment installed in it. I did not do the segment swap. It is not doable to normal people. Someone MUCH smarter than me put it together.

I have had 2 GTO bins that some bench wizard(s) had segment swapped. When you open the file they appear to have been swapped as well. Neither one of them worked on the actual car though.

The other option is just like the f-body has. Run the 80e with the 60 segment and a couple of wiring changes. This is the best way anyway as it keeps the converter from unlocking every time throttle is lifted.

The TCI controller works great for me so far. Converter lockup is like factory. I just gotta get the vss back to thw pcm lol. I'll see what I can do with a wss this week.
