Default the story of 418 ci 11.8 not tuning on 93 or 94 oct

6.0 iron 4.100 crank, 6.125 rods, 4.030 pistons +5 dome, .060 cometic , PRC 2.5 72cc 317 , 239 247 LSL 114+2 , 42 lb , walbro and hotwire , ls6 intake and ported stock tb . LT 1 3/4 3" Y stock catback with 3" DMH , lid , plastic ends stock MAF , Holley Filter , ASP , SLP CAI cut to above the radiator , 160 T , HS upgraded new stock rockers , 7.450 rods , ls7 lifters , TR55 , msd wires

calculated to 11.76:1 ... another guy calculated it to 11.72:1

our local fuel is 98 octane (using another calculating method) so it`s 93 or 94 us octane

couldn`t tune it even with 10 timing still knock and timing going down and not going above 5 rpm .... even knowcking at partial throtle

will try to tune on C16 tomorrow and new 4.040 pistons -2 flats are on search by a very helpfull sponsor to DD because c16 is no fun if I want to drive the car wich I was planning to do and not just race it

another tuner suggested TR6 and to look at it but I gave up hope
and the current tuner says it might be 12.1 or 12.2:1
so tuning on c16 untill the rebuild for 93-94 oct tune

with 70cc heads and .040 was 12.6:1 for sure by the engine builder in the US(previous set up) I bought the used shortblock and tried all that to avoic C16 LoL

hope it helps somebody

will update in the upcoming days .... took it to another tuner wich found out the fuel pressure is 38-40 and when the motor is switched off it goes to 0 !

and he got it to pull without knock!

so he`ll take a look at the pump and the knock sensors and stuff and he`ll try to tune it him self as the whole tune is off and the other tuner put the tune on 28lb injector as his effort to richen the car because he didn`t know the problem!

man I have hope!

Sounds like you have more than hope but rather a new tuner that has a clue.

There is no way you should need C16 at 12:1 cr. But yes run the Tr6's, much better choice for that compression.
98 octane should work great with that cr when you get the fuel pressure issues figured out.
