i had a question dan in the book you set the OL EQ table to command 12.6, why? why not set it at 1.0 and command 14.6 so that when PE kicks in it doesn't command an extremely rich AFR?

Jimbo- they set the ol EQ ratio to shoot for 12.6 because that is what your PE table would be shooting for. Makes it easier to see fueling error. The ol EQ ratio does not compound on to the PE EQ ratio not making it any richer. You can make it all 1s for 14.7 in the OL and only once the criteria for PE are met(tps/rpm/map etc) then the computer will use the EQ ratio in the PE table.

I beg to differ. You should set the PCM up as close as possible to how it will run when you're done. If you're going to do all of your commanded fuel in the open loop table and disable PE long term, then do that. Otherwise (if you're planning on using the PE table long term), you should set the open loop table to stoich (around operating temperatures) and the PE modifers/enablers as you intend them to be. 12.6 is just a good starting point when you don't know what your VE is going to look like. It gives a little padding/time for you to get out of the throttle in case the AFR goes lean. I personally set up the first run to something safer (like 12.0) for WOT. Once you have a good idea for what the VE looks like, you can lean it out to something closer to 13.0 (for NA applications of course).

Because they feel they can't control it. They don't have the technology to protect from you from sending a copy to everyone you know.
Shoot...I suggested they get with Amazon and make it available for the Kindle. That would take care of any security issues.
