YES, the first case study is of a 2007 Corvette with some simple bolt-ons. The book does't go into detail about the specifics of one controller vs another, rather it shows you how to tune using a tuning process that's effective and efficient. The same tuning process I lay out in the book can be used to tune any engine that has EFI, regardless of controller type, but yes, you will see how an E38 ECM can be tuned using the '07 Corvette as an example.

yep, just as poconojoe says...new books only from here on out. It's similar to the old book, but it's strictly GM info...no Ford or other stuff. That's coming in a separate new book soon.

We are putting together an EFI Live version that should be out in the coming months. This project, and Ford EFI will be coming around spring of 2010. Not long after we'll have a Chrysler HEMI tuning book out as well. "No (WILD)child left behind"...

It sure does! Airflow modeling (both MAF and VE) is covered in the theory section of the book, and Case Study #3 covers Speed-Density (aka VE) tuning using a turbocharged '02 Camaro with a 2-bar speed-density tune as the real-world example. I'm quite sure you'll find Case Study #3 more than useful when learning how to tune speed-density systems.
Cheers!

Sound great, I will order the books soon. Is there a place that I can get HPT and the book at one place?

Great, I will give them a call.
Quick question, my motor make peak power at 8,000rpm. will HPT be able to tune up to and beyond 8,000?
Also, how high of a rpm will I be able to adjust the rev limiter.
Thanks

8000 is right around the end of most tables(they are hardcoded by GM)

for instance the spark tables(high & low) go to 8000 rpms then the last cell is used thereafter.

Rev limiter hardcoded limit goes to 12800rpm.

I asked about the E38 because it doesn't have a traditional VE table as such.

True. The E38 is capable of floating-point math and so calculates VE in real-time using polynomial constants (in the virtual VE table), but again, the tuning process laid out in Case Study #3, the turbocharged Camaro which uses a traditional VE table, still applies to the new style "virtual VE" table.
Case Study #1, the '07 Corvette DOES NOT have VE tuning due to the relatively stock configuration of that specific car, but Case Study #3 is all about VE tuning. Different application, but same tuning process.

I am an LT1 guy, will this book pertain to my vehicle? I will need to tune a 95 camaro, and a 97 T/A, will your tuners pro kit do the job for both cars?

The book outlines a tuning process that can be used to tune any EFI engine, but it focuses on late-model LS engines. As for the tuning software, sorry but no, it does NOT support LT1 tuning at this time.

They are both good tuning tools. The books, classes, videos, and forum community for user support, is a lot bigger for HP Tuners than EFI LIVE.
