Idle Issues: hanging at 12-1400
so i have a set idle of 850-900. nothing i do will bring it down besides timing but that caused a hang off throttle. (let off and it hangs for a sec then falls)
its a Torquer 2 (232/234 595/598 on 113) with a ported FAST with 95mm tb. the tps was already reset as was the set screw.
ugh
im kinda at wits end with this one.

I recently had problems with the idle too. After doing the upper part of the engine including a BBK 58mm TB.
I found that the adjuster screw on the TB was completely loose and unscrewed itself to a point where the IAC couldn't compensate. I had 2000+ idle

A little more information is required.
Like one poster said, is it hanging just at idle or when it moves. There are numerous airflow tables, but it sounds like you may just have too much desired airflow.
Do you have access to tuning software? There are many ways to tune that out (if that is the problem).

theres quite a few diff airflow tables for idle. what about other tables like idle adapt max? note: i didnt have this trouble with the ls6 intake..lol. id love to find a tune with a similar setup as mine. im wondering how much i should knock down the airflow values for this thing? i do have hpt, ive been trying to tune out this weird hang and it was even worse right after the new intake (hanging at 2k) i just cant seem to shake the last 3-400 rpm

Oh, you have those pesky 'Idle Learning Tables', that also affect Idle Airflow.
But if it is Desired Airflow (the biggie), then your idle will come done as your ECT warms up. So, that would be the big clue. Or someone may have just set your desired idle speed too high.
Did this just start, or has it been this way?

Well most of the Idle Learning Tables don't normally kick in until your ECT is ~80C (176F).
It really sounds like your Desired Airflow Table is too high. Especially if it gets better as your ECT warms up..That would be my guess..

The warmer the engine, less desired airflow is needed, so lower it in the necessary temp ranges.
You might want to remove a bit of spark in the idle table as well to help it fall, or increase TF decay, decrease delay etc.
How are your IAC steps when this is occuring?

ill do one tomm and post it up.
i know the engine needs less air when warm, ill try again tomorrow and see wht a new log/confg will catch. my current tunes base idle air above 111* is 12 g/sec.

the airflow increases because of the rpm. rpm and airflow should be going down not up. desired settles around 8-9 g/sec but im seeing 11-13. in rtt i even played with it and cut the base table to 5 jus to see what would happen. got nothin.

Is this ETC or cable?
Have you tried manually adjusting the IAC (if cable) with bidi controls? Ruling out a possible bad IAC stepper motor. Or even the idle port in the TB being incorrectly machined.
