how was this resolved? I'm having the exact same issue on my LS1/t56 swapped RX7. No fire on cylinders 5,6,7,8 - the 4 in the rear of the engine. I'm about to try the crank position sensor, but am stumped otherwise. I have cleaned and checked the injectors, fuel pressure is good, compression is excellent, spark is good and have swapped around coil packs.

well done sir - broken valvespring on #7.
these are patriot gold springs - and this is what happens when you don't properly warm up the engine before beating on it.

Okay guys I am open for ideas. I have a 1999 C5 with an LS1 and its running on Cylinders 1,2,3,4 and not on 5,6,7,8. You can smell raw fuel and the car is running very rich. It sounds like there is a massive cam in it. I have changed the plugs and wires to see if that was the problem. I scanned it and I found out about the cylinders not firing. All the injectors are working and all of the coil packs are plugged in. No codes are being thrown at all.
Im open for ideas and/or suggestions. Hopefully somebody on here has had this issue and knows how to resolve it. Thank you in advance.

While cranking he grabbed the wiring harness coming out of the PCM and moved them side to side....the other side would intermittently fire.....thats how he new it was a loose ground wire.
((I didn't read this thread to see if you found your issue, just posting what my fix was.))

was driving a long and my oil pressure light came on engine light aswell engine ran on 5-6 cylinders then nothing put ute on scan tool said crank angle sensor circuit malfunction, oil pressure malfunction, since that had to get a new oil pump, bought a crank angle sensor also cam angle sensor, still runs on passenger side bank ive swapped coil packs over no changes clean spark plugs have injector pulse have spark checked wiring to crank sensor ok its like its not getting signal when to fire on drivers side bank so doing my head in now im thinking pcm any ideas

I would check all connections and grounds. That's usually what it is.

I thoroughly cleaned all chassis grounds in engine bay, however I am concerned that the metal grounding point may not be the issue, there may be an issue along the length of the grounding wire that is out of my site. Have you had to add ground wires to a vette? If so what is the best method/locations?
What are my other options?

No Vette experience, though I know a composite body creates its own issues. No such thing as too many grounds. If it is suspect, add another one.

I'm having the same problem with my GTO, Seems to be running on half the engine , passenger side is dead or getting very little spark, but if I unplug the battery for a few minutes and hook it back up and start it, the car runs fine for a couple of minutes then goes back to misfiring, did you find the solution?
