Default Traction Control

Is it possible for a tuner to remove the traction control?? I know SLP has the box that will reverse it so it starts in the off position instead of on...but if it could be taken out in the tune that would be grand...

Just curious

Tuning cannot remove traction control - it is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). You can yank the fuse on it...

If you give it more authority, in the spark retard and
aggressive retard limits, you can improve its disposition
(often gaining the traction control desired, without
falling back to the fuel cut).

If you remove the spark authority it has no choice but
to lay down the suck (throttle pullback).

I've swapped over to the non-TCS throttle & cruise
cables and still have TCS active. I get into the "low
traction" on occasion, the exhaust honks as the spark
is dialed back, wheel slip stops but I don't get the
ABS apply or fault out. Not on "oops" conditions that
are momentary, at least. Because the spark retard has
been given enough latitude to get the job done.

Mat it and hold it, though, and it's not so pretty.

Somebody should make a gizmo like the SLP reverser,
only running off a throttle position microswitch. Or
maybe just a NC switch that would cut the power
to the "brain" when the pedal is floored. Being as
that is a pretty clear signal of intent, and all.
