Default EFI Live + wideband

Ive been researching tuning software and have come to the age old question, EFI Live or HP Tuners...

Well Ive decided to go with EFI Live and want to run an AEM Wideband. Ive had great success running AEMs electronics in other vehicles but always done so in conjunction with the AEM stand alone system used for tuning. While doing my research on here Ive noticed some people are getting two different readings when comparing the wideband guage reading and the what the software is logging. How often is this happening and what if any are the fixes? Anybody running intothis issue?

Thanks in advance for the help

Chris

Is this over serial or 5v? If its digital I can only see it being an issue in the AEM as the V2 just repeats what ever data it receives. If its from the 5v signal.. Then I guess you could put that down to offsets or what ever causing a dirty signal. But I can't imagine why you would use the 5v signal.

If the AEM doesn't have a serial output, I would get something else so you can take advantage of the EFILive serial port... I use an LM-2 with the serial output - that is the only way to go - no dirty signals, no ground issues, no offsets... makes for a much better tune...

Use the LM2 with a TAQ cable (serial) it is soo easy and very quick. I wouldnt have it any other way.

Ive done both EFILive and HPTuners, there is much more support and learning tools for HPTuners. You sure you want EFILive?

This is why...

No serial port on HPTuners... Pros and cons to both, but this one makes EFILive the only way to go IMO...

Im using EFI Live to tune with...Ive made my decision on that. As far as the wideband goes I guess I am up for suggestions. But, as far as I know the AEM wideband has both 5v and serial outputs. I could be wrong.
Description of features from AEMs website:

- Ideal AFR monitoring tool for EFI and carbureted applications, and engine dynamometers
- Does not oscillate AFR reading like narrow band sensors
- No laptop required for monitoring!
- Bosch sensor included
- Accurate to 0.1 AFR
- Reads in AFR or Lambda via a switch in back of gauge housing
- 24 Color-coded LED display lights provide immediate reference to engine’s air/fuel ratio (AFR) or Lambda ratio
- Integrated three-digit display reveals AFR or Lambda in real time
- User-programmable 0-5v analog output included for use with data loggers and virtually any engine management system
- Serial data stream included for output of AFR (RS 232)

Anyone running the AEM wideband in conjunction with EFI Live? If so, feel free to chime whether your using the 5v or serial output and what your feedback is.

Check www.taquickness.com for the serial cables - I know he makes them for several different widebands to connect to EFILive - tried to get you a link, but his site is down at the moment... You can also check the V2 to see if AEM is supported under the serial inputs - its in the menu somewhere - I don't have my cable here at the moment so I can't look for you...

I used a LC-1 for years with my V1 EFILive. Worked great.

Sweeeeet...thanks for the info. Are you running an AEM wideband with EFI Live via serial comms? Any issues if you are? Anyone who has some experience with this setup please chime in...

It for sure works, I use one on one of my cars. Serial is definatly the way to go. With 0-5volt output there is no way to be perfect on the full scale from what i have seen.
