So which parameters should I scan? Do you all want to see the whole tune also? I don't think I know at all how to pull a copy of the tune out, and I only sort of know how to select parameters. So any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Anybody? This thing makes zero sense to me. Guess I'll read the PDFs again, but I have no idea how to even start.

If you post on the EFILive forum you will be pointed toward the howto's.

basically:
- install V7 (gives you scantool (scanner/logger) and tunetool (editor/flasher)),
- install V8 (gives you S&T and EE),
- use S&T to configure pidlists (for logging) and PCM type (for reading/flashing) into your V2.

Then take V2 to vehicle and log; when done logging, take V2 back to PC and use EE to upload logs, use scantool to view.

V2 can also be used to read PCM and to flash it.

If you post on the EFILive forum you will be pointed toward the howto's.

Thanks, I did register over there tonight. I did install V7 and V8, I guess after that I'm lost. For instance I can't seem to find where I put in my registration key, so when I go into V8 I actually have nothing, all the help files say nothing is there and if I click on different features I get a popup of a spy looking guy and the message top secret. So I'm assuming I need to put the registration key in before using V8? In the scan in V7 I must have done it wrong as all the PIDs told me invalid.

Do I need a SD card then to do it the way you are saying? What size does it accept or does the data not even take up a lot of space? Today I had the laptop in the car with me, but I failed to do anything right.

In V7 goto Help->Register EFILive and enter your blue card info (watchout, the date is non-USA format).

In V8 use F5 and F6 to configure your V2 (the other items don't work as of yet);

Then do either:
- use V2 in standalone/blackbox mode to read your PCM (then take V2 to PC, use EE to upload to PC);
- use V2 connected to laptop and use V7 tuntool to read your PCM;

once you have your PCM file on the PC, use the V7 tunetool to view/edit the tune;

in V8 the "secret" items are not yet ported to V8, so use V7 for those.

Differences between V7 and V8:
V7: scantool, tunetool.
V8: V2 logging/flashing config tool (S&T), V2 file upload/download tool (EE).

Do you have an SD card...?

Now when it says roadrunner, is that the handheld unit?

I do have a standard sized SD card I believe in my video camera, which I can use as the battery isn't rechargable in it anymore for some reason.

Edit: I just thought of a question that seems important. The car stalls out a lot now. Will this disrupt logging, the restarting of the car or will it just show up in the log?
