Default Car hits rev limiter with Frost tune now. Help

I put in a 4k yank ss stall! I had Frost retune for the stall. I had a tune by him before and it was a great tune. But now the car hits the rev limiter from 1st to 2nd at wot. What should I do now? Maybe send it back for a shift point change?

The shift mph is probably a tad off. Likely from the big time converter slip at high rpm. I had the same issues with mine when going from a 3200 to an SS4k. Frost was actually somebody who gave me some pointers to get it fixed. Its working good now.

Have you emailed him to ask him about it? That's where I would start.

ask/email/call Steve Williams aka FROST. don't do this post and ask complain crap. talk to the tuner. communication is the biggest problem in businesses & the world. Call him and talk to him, he spent 2 hours on the phone with me and I didn't even buy anything from him, I don't think he is going to hang you out to dry.

I'm not bashing him at all. I love his tunes. On my 3rd one from him now! I don't have his number though. And I know he is crazy busy with emails, ect. I did email him though.

He didn't sound like he was complaining or bashing. He was simply asking a question. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror pal...

Thank you 01ssreda4! I love Frost tunes and told most of my lsx friends to get his tunes. I would never bash a tech sponser. Frost is a great guy to do business with. I just got the 150 miles on my new yank stall and went wot for the first time. I just wasn't sure what to do now after it hit the limiter. Thats all. The stall makes the car a blast btw!

Sometimes it's really hard to nail down shiftpoint's with converter's.

I might change it 5-8 times to get them nailed down. Just lucky we have a load dyno that we 1/4 the car on to get them dialed quickly.

I have 2 dyno shops close by. Would it be best to just take it to a dyno?

Have you tried clicking your heels together three times wishing for the shift to come on earlier. Because if you dont have any tuning software, you need to contact Frost and let him set it a little lower.

Thats a very good point.....I recently fixed my shifting issues. However this was with a hot tranny. Pulled out of work this morning with the tranny fairly cool (120 or less at the pan) and it tapped the limiter once going 2>3. Once it was up to temp (140-160) it was perfect. Just proves the point. I'm gonna try try dropping my shift point by 50 till it acts right. I think only one drop will get it.

I'm sure he will have no problem redoing it for you, its hard to nail a converter tune unless you drive the car.
