Default Granatelli MAF performance

Hey all,
I recently got my heads/cam car tuned, and decided to try throwing my aftermarket granatelli MAF on, to see if it would make a difference. I was surprised when it seemed to increase the throttle response, as well as make the motor louder, as if it was making more power. I drove it a few miles, and checked the plugs. They were white. I knew the granatelli would lean it out from what other people have said on here. I just didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Anyway, do ya'll think it's ok to drive, or should I just take it back to the tuner? I know aftermarket MAFs aren't supposed to make a big difference, but I swear, this one is....

It will lean you out temporarily and then fuel trimming will start to fight
it. But it's lying all the time about air mass which is not good for an A4
at all. Don't know what you've got.

Yea, im running an m6, so should I just put it back on then? After i saw the plugs, I put the stock MAF back on. The motor seems sluggish by comparison. The thing is, the best I can get is 91 around here...I just don't want any detonation...

Sell that piece of $hit! The reason leaning out your stock tune gives you power is because the original factory tune is fat with fuel for warranty protection of the drivetrain. The truth is you don't need a false MAF signal to lean you out all the time. Get it tuned correctly. For the same amount you spent on the Gran. MAF you could have gotten a FROST mail order tune.

For that matter, last time I saw retail pricing on that voodoo POS
you were about halfway to real tuning cable & software, which
would let you lie to your car any way you see fit. Or learn and do
it right, whichever you prefer.

I got the granatelli for free, I never would have spent money on it. I spent 400 bucks on the tune this time, and with prc 5.3 heads, a 236/242 cam and ls6 intake it put down around 440 to the wheels. I suppose thats about where it should be anyway.
