hp tuners
downloaded my existing Predator tune, returned
PCM to stock with Predator and downloaded that
(for archival purposes). Then I modified the Predator
.bin file with some things I wanted to do but never
could, like getting transmission kickdown right.
PCM programmed faster than the Predator write
by a long shot. With proper kickdown action
programmed the 4L60E is a whole different
transmission, I'm loving it. I got the beneficial
elements of the Predator tune written back in
(TM gone, until I can learn about how to make
it work smart), set my COT maximum enrichment
to 5% instead of 20%, little things like that. On
an A4 getting the tranny right matters more to
street driving satisfaction than anything else. I
am stoked over this tool. The only shortcomings
I have seen are some odd dropouts in logging and
I reckon these will be taken care of pretty quick.
But I still have EFILiveV6 if I need it, and for now
I'm chasing all the things that I could never get
to before; timing and air/fuel are "close enough"
from combination of Predator & its user settings,
and my hand-whittled MAF. It's the transmission
that always griped me the most - but it's feeling
much better now.
I would put this at the top of my mod list, right
up there with the converter, as far as effect per
peso. In fact I'd put the converter in #2 position
(of course I have a fairly mild one and don't go to
the track a lot). When I got the Predator and was
able to make the trans shift quicker and higher I
was a happy camper. But now I'm like to bust a
nut from grinning.
