Exclamation MAF, Doesnt work help needed.

So i've finally took my car to be tuned, to find out that my MAF doesnt work,
the tuner over there tried using another MAF and it didnt work either, IAT is working fine but we dont know why the MAF won't. he also checked all fuses and they are all completely fine.

i have the stock ls1 maf 3(MAF)pins - 2 (IAT)pins

any ideas what i should be looking for?

Off chance that he is trying to copy the secondary VE table to the primary?

the 5 pin to 2/3 pin adapter i got had the maf leads backwards causing mine not to work but IAT worked fine. Is this all stock wiring or are you using an adapter?

You should be looking for another tuner that has some diagnostic skills and knows how to use a volt meter.

If using racetronix harness the yellow and red wires are switched at the three wire connector. Look at the harness, it won't match the car colors.

yeah, you need to check the pinout on your harness. I bought a 4" maf from Texas Speed. It came with a harness. I hooked everything up and it didn't work. I pulled the harness and checked the pinout and it was wrong. Changed pin locations and all is well... I attached a page. Look under the MAF tables for the various pinouts.

if i've not mistaken, you meant that you've had wrong wire connections?

i have that exact picture of the pinouts
BUT, my Ws6 is completely untouched, factory wiring, everything is in place.
im ofc talking about the stock 78mm ls1 maf here not the ls2 maf

although i just bought the ls2 maf today with the wiring without having to cut anything, ill see if it works and let you all know what happens.

in the time being, hopefully more guys help me out in this, just in case this LS2 MAF doesnt work either, what would you guys suggest as my next step further?

Even weirder my brother's 99 z28 has this exact same problem although it has a ls2 maf and i've done the wiring myself using the above pdf its still not working .. only IAT works and yes i he had the wires switched and i reswitched them same thing.

You have your opinion, I have mine. I never said the tuner should fix the problem. A competent tuner should be able to diagnose a problem with any sensor on the vehicle.

Can you describe what not working means? Are you throwing a code or seeing any counts? Have you verified it is installed in the right direction and that you are getting 12v and 5v on the red and yellow?

Sadly, i'm not getting much info to tell you guys here from the tuner.

although i just spoke to him about what you guys said and he said he already checked the fuses.

i dont know if he checked for the voltage on the wires though, but he does know that he needs to pin out the pcm wiring.

i'll head to the garage today with a LS2 MAF and see what happens

I would like to thank Ryan as he was right, it was the engine sensor fuse.
it wasn't only that but also my stock LS1 MAF didn't work, the LS2 MAF didn't also until we replaced the engine sensor, we had a P0102 code thrown while checking if it worked too.

The fuse seemed to work but seems like it was tired.

case solved.

congrats that it was that simple.... i run into it all the time on the dyno... easy indication is the o2's wont warm up or switch for a long time because that fuse powers the heater circuit as well
