I am doing a ls swap on a mustang and I have someone local selling a 4.8 with ecm and harness. I know the 05s are DBW i plan on putting an ls6 intake on it with a DBC throttle body. will the computer be able to hand this or do I need a hole different ecm and harness?

 

You will need to change the wiring to drive by cable (not a big issue) and make sure the PCM has IAC drivers in it. Even if the PCM doesn't have the drivers in it, you still use the harness and either run a 6243 PCM or switch the green covers for red ones and wire the harness to run a 411 PCM

 

How can you check to see if the computer has IAC drivers?

 

I found it 05 trucks do not have IAC drivers so I will need a new ecu and to repinn the wiring harness

Depends on the pcm hardware number, there where in fact some 2005 pcms with the iac drivers.

I too well need to get a reprogram , but mine is DBW Gen IV . I just need a stock tune but will need help with the repin of the harness.
