Default Air Fuel question

First off im new to the high horsepower world,I recently just got my turbo 383 finished up and tuned a a local shop. Made great power on 93 octane. my question is this, Is an AFR reading of around 12.8 in boost safe? Cause doesn't the lower the number mean the safer AFR. Sorry if this may seem like a pointless question, I would just like to know. Thanks

I'm no expert but 12.8 with boost doesn't sound good to me. I'm n/a and 12.8 on 93 is still giving me some kr. I'd talk to a reputable tuner and stay out of wot until its fixed

It will make great power for a little while. Like the other gentleman said, stay out of boost until it is fixed. 11.5-1 is pretty safe and normally makes close to the same power. It won't live long at 12.8-1. Those are NA numbers.

Yeah, DEFINATELY STAY OUT OF BOOST until you get the a/f back down to a good 11s value. It wont last long if you don't. 12.8s is for non supercharged

If your shop is purposely targeting 12.8 on a boosted car I'd go elsewhere

12.8 is on the lean end of where you typically see NA (12.5-13.0) , mid 11's to be safe on boost , with a real reputable tuner that knows turboed ls tuning well doing the tuning you may creep up to high 11's

That's where I always put them. Plenty safe. A little leaner will make a little more power with a turbo(s), but not as much as many want to think.
