No offense taken. I. Know we had it, did some more changes and tested the crap out of it for a week. All my guys drove it and it was fine. This is why I point to the intake and the car might be learning off a vacuum leak.

Also thinking your scanner might not be reading the correct point for iac. While driving the iac should be at 100+ count. I usually tune iac's around 50-90 hot park idle. If it is true 0 there is a leak or bad iac.

Hmmm, well, i'm reading off a aeroforce gauge. Everyone that has this gauge that I know of says they can read their IAC counts with it
It always reads 0 on mine even while driving. I'll look more into the IAC and look over vacuum hoses again. I'll look at getting it scanned with something else while i'm at it. Thanks.

Ok here's a good question.

Can having no vehicle speed reported from the VSS cause this kind of stuff? I was always thinking that could be possible so I did a seach and this thread I found is dead nut of what my car seems to be doing. https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...g-do-idle.html
Post #15 in that thread could explain something if it is indeed correct.

Don, The reason I thought it might have something to do with VSS for a long time is after I did my stall, I got a VSS code. Then I brought the car to you. This was the very first time you tuned it. I remember telling you about the VSS code and you told me you might have to turn it off or something. Did you turn it off to not report? So what do you think are we on to something?

Hey Joe,

There are modes/tables that activate/deactivate based on VSS... if it doesn't read zero when stationary then that is a problem, and if it doesn't read correctly when moving then that is also a problem since the trans shift tables/points require VSS.

Hey Joe,

Like said above, if IAC is really zero then the PCM is seeing too much air.

How much of a leak is acceptable through the blade shaft of the TB?
I puffed 2 cigars through the brake booster hose and on the PCV hose front of the intake. I capped off the TB enough to were I was able to blow as hard as I could through the hoses. The only places I saw smoke is out of the dipstick tube and out of the side of TB where the blade shaft is. It was hissing pretty loud.
So is it acceptable to have a leak at the blade shaft? Aparently im not the only one with this leak on these TBs but NW says its acceptable

The VSS has to be working to shift the trans. I know I tuned it to a 50-90 IAC count like all the cars and it would definitely go to the 100's while cruising.

Now that you got nothing I would think a possible IAC problem(stuck in 1 position and reading 0) or a good vacuum leak.
Leaking around the TB blade and shaft is pretty normal.

Ok thanks.
Just for the heck of it I blocked off the PCV + opened the oil cap like you said. Still no IAC movement. I think i'll just stick another IAC in there and see what happens.

I would try that.

If you get sick of trying to figure it out you can always drop it here.I wouldn't mind going over it again at no charge.

Alright. After sticking the "extended" IAC back in the TB the car took 5 times to start.
The extended IAC must have been blocking the IAC hole in the TB. It finally adjusted and stayed running after giving it throttle.
So this must mean the IAC is working if it adjusted to where it needed to idle correct?
I'm doubting this gauge, its always at 0 ha!

Yes problem was solved. I have had this oil leak for 2 years I have not been able to find until last week. It was the valve covers that were found to be leaking which in turn could have been the cause of a vacuum leak. All I can say is a new tune and new valve cover gaskets has this car running like it should of 2 years ago. I finally have my car back.
