Using the GM flex fuel sensor on an Fbody

Also does efi live have a custom operating system? it seems as if this is the major draw back, as you can get it to work but not for us forced induction guys.

Most ALL of the tuning was done with HPTuners and they offer custom OS's from 1bar up to 3bar. I'm using EFILive just for monitoring Ethanol % along with the Ethanol spark modifier. EFILive offers up to a COS3 with this particular OS as well.
This is a bastard OS with segments from 3 different vehicles to make work right along with some other custom tweaks. It's not something that can simply be explained if that makes sense.
I also have a couple HPT 3bar OS's working with full flex fuel support as well. I'll see if I can dig up a video of the 70 Camaro with a forged 370 with a MP2300 max'd out on E85 turning the rollers.

James,
When you say a couple other custom tweaks are you talking about a cax file for ethanol tables that aren't normally displayed?
Thanks for all of the information provided thus far!
I would definitely like to see the camaro mentioned, post it up.

What is the COS for the full ethanol control? Just to confirm this is for 01-02 OS.
I am currently using 02020003 and would LOVE to be able to install the ethanol sensor and have it working correctly.

Unless someone has segment swapped the 2004 GTO OS it will not work. There are alot of hidden background data that is not populated in the 2004 GTO OS. The '603 brother OS is the best one to use for retrofits from what I've seen. If using it in a GTO you can apply a GTO VIN to the '603 OS as well.
I'm not going to write a tutorial on how to do this step by step because we do these conversions at our shop. My personal car is running a 3bar HPTuners COS with Flex Fuel fully functional including timing adjustment along with controlling a 4L80E.

if your planing on running nothing but e85 is it worth installing the sensor? can this be done on a stock 99 pcm with hpt now? ive read a bunch of the replies but im a tuning newbie.

Here is my setup to run a twin 70mm iron 408/4l80 dbw with a fuel composition sensor.
Controller: P59 1mb (Blue/Green)
Service/Hardware: 12576106 - 12570558
OS: 12579405 (superseded by 12593058)
The attached tune is compiled segments from 3 vehicles. There is a 3 bar SD COS available from HPT (which I run but not applied to the attached tune). Engine segments support any 50-150Hz fuel composition sensor. Engine segments started from a 5.3 Tahoe to get the FF to work. Not all the FF switches are present in HPT as previously mentioned so you must start with a known FF cal to get the FF to work. You can build this tune from the newer 12593058 OS if you can find the donors. This OS has the fuel AFR table and FF spark up to 0.88 g/cyl. This PCM runs both DBC and DBW. The transmission segments are for a 4L80 which I believe is one of the more vetted 80 segments such as access to the D1 tables to run a Jake trans brake.
This is fitted in a 02 s10 that original had the P01 411 (blue/red) with a 4.3L/4l60.

Find a 12576106/12570558 controller and hope it has the 12579405 OS. All 03 S10's had the 12579405 but the v8 applications could have the 12593058 depending if they have ever been updated. There was an idle surge condition that merited the 12593058 update. License the new controller and use HPT 2.25 to segment swap in the 2 engine segments and 2 transmission segments (if you want a 4l80) which does not require a license. Repin and wire in the FF sensor accordingly.
