Default Tuning Noob in need of some advice

86 C-10 5.3 Swap. I bought the vehicle as it sits, it wont get out of its own way. I pulled a log off under load up hill and full throttle and it looks like the rpms arent even coming up over 1500. I've verified the TB is opening all the way from the gas pedal. I have no idea where to start but I have a log file if anyone could look at it and give me ANY direction.

Thanks.

There is no WOT data in either log. 65% TPS is the highest I saw in either log. B1S1 O2 sensor is either dead or not plugged in and B2S1 O2 sensor is lean all the time. Vehicle seems to have issues other than just a tune problem, but without a complete list of mods and the tune who knows. Is the TB drive by cable or wire?

Its a stock 5.3 with shortys and full exhaust without cats. One of the O2s is not plugged in and is capped off until I have time to replace that. It is not drive by wire and I have verified the gas pedal is opening up the throttle body all the way.

I know very little about this stuff but do you have o2 simulators?

No, one is a O2 sensor, and one is not installed.

Looks like the main pink wire going to the trans was not hooked up. I got that wired up, and the trans seems to be shifting properly now I also got to see WOT after doing hooking the wire up.

Im still getting those codes though. I wonder if by chance he put a 4l80 in it. There are two larger green wires that go into a plug on the drivers side of the trans that are not hooked up. Im guessing those are a for a neutral safety switch?

Here is the latest log after the trans has power to the main pink wire. Things are better, but I still have all the same codes

You better learn to interpret the data the scanner is showing before you blow it up. The O2s are saying it is extremely lean even when the fuel trims are adding tons of fuel anytime you are accelerating or are at WOT. The whole time you are WOT they are around 50 mv with the fuel trims at 18% and 25%. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it for starters.

Thanks for the help. I had an O2 issue that I have fixed, but still having terrible FT's im assuming because my pump is to small. I bought a gauge and just have to check FP so I can verify thats whats causing the problems now.

Im back to square one, my pressure is at 55lbs at an idle, and drops to 50 on accel.

Any suggestions at this point?

That pressure is where it should be at, right?

No. And it also depends on if the 5.3 has a return fuel rail with a regulator or a returnless fuel rail. Different year 5.3s had different fuel systems with different methods of checking fuel pressure. Even flex fuel 5.3s had different fuel pressures than non flex fuel 5.3s. I don't know what you have.

This is what I have. Also I did a volume check tonight, I got a pint in 25 seconds at the rail.

Can't help without knowing what style fuel system your 5.3 has. You have to provide information in order to receive help.

Understood. Its out of a 2002 tahoe. The fuel system has a return line, but that's all I know for certain at this point. I'm not sure about the regulator but I will have to inspect it more tomorrow in the daytime.

Does any of that have the potential to be a problem with fuel supply when I know the pressure and volume are within spec of all the research I have done?

A lot of 02 5.3L Tahoes were Flex Fuel and have different fuel pressure specs than non Flex Fues. With KOEO command the fuel pump on with your HP Tuners scanner. What is fuel pressure. Either way with a return style fuel system, the fuel pressure should not be lower under acceleration or lower manifold vacuum than at idle.

Would it be more likely to be having an issue with the regulator, or the pump at this point in your opinion?
