Default Time for tuning yet?

Hello all. I am about to install some flowtech longtubes, offroad ypipe, and ported throttlebody. Considering the mods I currently have. Will it be time for a tune yet - basically is it worth it for any horsepower gain at this point? I realize i will have ses code - no simms and no air and maybe no egr. How much HP gain would I get in my current (to be) state with a tuning? Thanks!

After headers you will probably want tuned.
Depending on tuner price and your plans for
future mods you may be ahead buying your
own tuning tool. You might well benefit now
by being able to fix the MAF table, fix up
shiftpoints; but if you're going to hire it done,
do it when you're through bolting stuff on for
a while.

A dyno tune will peak up your WOT output but
much of the driveability of an A4 comes from
adjusting shiftpoints and converter lockup to
suit you. Can't do that on the rollers. This kind
of thing is where having the capability at home
really shines.

Actually I do already have a Hypertech tuner. However the power program slowed me down so I took that off. I do use it for the 180 fan and I actually lowered the shift points a tad to compensate for the converter, and i firmed up the shifts. The converter locks up perfectly as it is now. Last place I checked on a tune wanted $500 which is about the price of the LS1 software - so I have been hesitant. If its only going to get me about 10 HP and get rid of the codes, i think I will wait for a better deal.
