Default tuning O2 sensors

So I have a 99 T/A that is your average bolt on HCI 6spd car. I bought the car as is and have done nothing to it in the past few years that I have owned it except for add a racetronix fuel pump and a general maintenance. The previous owners who did all of the work had the car tuned a few times and it made around 430rwhp.

I was always under the impression that when a car is modded like this that the O2 sensors are usually taken out of the equation in the tune. However I have recently had the check engine light come on a few times, and it seems to be caused by the O2 sensors.

So should I just replace the sensors? Or should the sensors be deactivated in the tune?

it really depends on how the car's set up. however what's important here is which O2 sensor went bad, the pre-cat or post-cat? the post-cat O2 sensors is aminly for emissions and ppl generally turn those off. the front ones are the ones that are important and the pcm goes to determine how much fuel is burnt up and adjusts the air-fuel ratio (AFR).

the car has 4 02 sensors. "sensor 2" bank one and bank two are the ones that get deleted.

So is there a way to tell if they have been deleted?

The car still has all four sensors?

^ what he said. Codes are most helpful. Otherwise it is just shooting in the dark.

I will have to wait and see if the codes come up again, the car hasn't been ran in a few months.

How can I get the tune file?

Well unless you have HP Tuners or efi live or any other tuning software you wont be able to get the tune file.

Here is a classified add for the car from a previous owner.

If you scroll down a few pics you can see that the car only has one of the rear sensors and the other is plugged. Any reason for this?

I would bet the rears have been turned off or you'd be getting codes all the time.

Is it only throwing a code for 1 sensor, switch them to make sure the 02 is really bad and it's not something else, I've run into a problem where my PCM isn't even reading o2 bank 1 and running lean
