Default ls1 tuning BIG CAM 150 shot

Hey guys I just purchased my first ws6 last week its a 2001 white t/a has 21k miles and some nice mods. It has a texas speed comp cam with all the supporting mods a built 460le with a yank 3800 stall 150 wetshot kit from nx I just had installed and a set of 3.73 gears I just had installed today. The car has a problem idling hard to start at times runs very rich getting terrible milage 140 miles to a full tank and hit the limiter the other day at WOT. The guy that owned it before me tuned it himself with efi live im hoping these issues are just in the tune I live in toledo and was told dr phil isnt far from me if anyone on here has his contact info I would love to have it!!! Ive heard hes hard to get a hold.of

I d get it on a dyno asap.....if its not shifting.....Id go over the shift commands closely first then change plugs and check the o2's. Check the program and see if the diagnotics are even on for the o2's first too.

Could all be ironed out pretty quick...but I wouldnt run it with out checking it outfirst, then on a wideband..

I originally wanted Dr Phil as well but he turned out to be a complete a**hole so I went with a little known independent tuner and am very happy I did! Guy did a phenomenal job! Phil is good but a complete pompous jerk IMO!

I'm assuming you don't know who he is lol. He is actually considered one of the very best tuners around, but he is an extremely arrogant SOB!

Phil Hoefler is his name. He's done tuning for many shops including Lingenfelter and others, and is considered the best out in this area. Apparently he must think that gives him the right to be a jackass, but when in reality he is nothing but a damn car tuner lol

The car shifts into gears just hits the limmiter and then shifts at wide open throttle also when im cruising sometimes it wont shift into 4th and if it does it will upshift into 3rd for no reason? Its a brand new perfomabuilt tranny with a little over 1k miles on it im praying its just in the tune I ordered new plugs the other day im not touching the nitrous until its tuned just cant get a hold of mr phil hes who I really want to tune it its becoming frustrating I dont kno what to do about the tune the guy I bought it from tuned it himself with efi live does phil tune with efi live??

I never heard of him either, but ive only been tuning since the 90's.
Since it down shifts for no apparent reason, doesn't mean it is. If the kpa changes, and the shift point is commanded real close, it can seem like it. I think its a good thing actually cause if it was the trans, I dont think it would be doing that. So hopefully its just a tune problem. Its possible the up shift and down shift table over laps, and that would happen.

If its the tune, its easy ....

Shift point settings can be a bit of a bear to visualize. I don't allow lockup in anything but OD and here is the visualization for how my shift tables are setup:



I played around with this a bit and keeping lock/unlock above the shift point gives you the ability to accelerate in gear without a downshift. Around 60% throttle I converge them so if you are giving it more than half throttle, you really probably wanna go and a downshift is in order. But at 75 on the interstate, a downshift is not needed to get up to 80-85 to pass someone.

Can that all be adjusted with my efi live handheld tuner? When I get.my 3.73 gears installed can I adjust that with my hand held aswell?
