Hi Members,
I am trying to get my ls1 running on an engine stand. I think I have almost everything ready. I am attaching a video that shows a few attempted starts.
I had a tuner turn VAT off in the ECU and give it a basic street tune. All vacums are capped. O2 sensors are unplugged. Holley electric fuel pump on its own power switch, Orange wires are hot, Pink wires are hot, Fuel cell with fuel, corvette regulator, new spark plugs and wires. It seems to me that something is killing the motor right after first spark. I would guess this is a VAT issue but this should have been turned off in the ECU. Motor block is the number that spans multiple years. It has all short head bolts so I think it is a 2004 block. ECU has red and blue plugs. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

If your using DBW does pcm, pedal, tach box all match as same year.Brendan at LT1 Swap just tuned my pcm and programmed my 06 pcm to a 05 cause pedal/ tach box were from 05 model. Not sure but that could be some problem.

Thanks for the response. I don't have a scan tool so I may need to send it back to see if the VAT was actually turned off. Is it possible to determine what year the ecu is from? When did they switch from the 50hz signal to the serial signal for the VAT?

I have answered both of my questions.
ECM is a 2002 and it looks like pwm vats is from 1998-2002
I will test my homemade module to get it running.

So from some feedback it seems that the suggestion was that VAT is not really off. I tried hooking up my homemade VAT module to the dark blue wire on the plug that went into the drivers compartment. It still seems that it doesn't want to go. Perhaps I need to send the PCM back for another try at programming.
