Feedback on my tune?
#24
I was considering having it professionally retuned. Made some good improvements to the start up on my own, but I've been questioning the overall quality of my tune so I guess I might as well have it entirely redone.

Don't worry about what subeone said. He's not going to be any help. Your VE table looks fine, no weird spikes, numbers flow nicely, peak in the right spot. Impossible to know if it's right on or not without a wideband data log. Your timing is really odd though. It goes up near peak torque when you'd want to drop it and it drops at high RPM where you'd want to raise it.

Want to see a really shitty looking VE table? You should see the one in my OL SD daily driver. Looks absolutely horrible, but produces exactly the AFR I want at all times.

Ya the ve table is a ballpark thing at best you really need to observe with a wideband or at least stfts to see it correctly. Op does the car startup better now? Your timing tables are weird but I didnt want to modify them without actually being in the car and logging it as bad things can happen

I'm going to have to agree, that VE table is NOT accurate. No way, no how, that's not what an accurately tuned VE table looks like on any motor combination. As far as the spark table goes there is no way to tell how much power is left on the table if any without being there and tuning it.
You need to start over and turn off the MAF and get the VE table dialed in first, then turn on the MAF and dial it back in before attempting to do any idle tuning.

Redbird555 yes the car definitely starts up better now and also the cars manners when leaving from a stop or moving at low speeds through parking lots and whatnot are better now also. Still got issues with the A/C on start ups though, I haven't had time to mess with it much lately. I am likely going to get a complete retune anyways.

Bumping this back up cause I have another question. Multiple people have said things about the timing in my tune. I am buying nitrous, and would like to know if it is unsafe to spray the way my current tune is? I plan to only spray with a 75-100 shot and will pull timing with an LNC-2000. Should I get retuned before spraying or should I be ok spraying a small shot?

I was planning to pull timing even for 100 shot to be safe, but wasn't sure if I should get an entirely new tune. AFR was in the low 12s if I remember correctly. Car loves to pop flames between shifts and letting off at high rpm so I figured that was due to the richer than usual AFR. Is having a little too much fuel asking for trouble or still safe?
