Default intake/headers tune

I have a 2000 camaro ss m6. I bought the car completely stock and now I put an slp lid and hooker 1 3/4 headers with a 2.5 inch exhaust. Car at idle runs at 14.6-14.8. What would be a some things to change to accommodate for the intake and headers?

you mean as far as the calibration? 14.6-14.8 sounds right on the money. Are you wanting to lean out idle?

I was told I have to tune the car for the headers but the car runs exactly how it should without a tune. Souls I even have to worry about tuning anything?

A tune is going to help regardless

As is often the case with MAF vehicles. Just don't tell anyone. Maybe some codes will set for any emission systems you deleted. It will benefit from a tune as would a stock vehicle though. Just doesn't always require a tune to run OK.

Closed loop (idle, part throttle) fueling is going to run at stoich. That's how closed loop works. WOT fueling on a 2000 F-body is pretty rich in the stock tune commanding a 11.76 A/F at all RPMs in PE. You could benefit a little by leaning that out a bit. WOT timing is already pretty good on a 2000 also. You would notice a big difference with some good trans tuning and getting rid of torque management.

Didn't notice that. No tuning or Tq Management on a manual trans. All you would tune is the engine. You can also disable the skip shift, adjust the fan turn on/off temps, and turn off any emission codes. That's about it.

So at idle the car is between 14.6-15.3, what can I change to keep it in the 14s at idle preferably closer to mid 14s afr?
