NEED HELP-NGK AFX wideband pegs at 16.00 unknown reason
Heres my mod list:
01 camaro z28
A4 trans
FRA
OL/MAF tune via HP tuners
2.73
I recently installed my NGK AFX powerdex that was in my GTP (gone now) and installed the sensor in the passenger B1S1 stock manifold. Power wire is tapped into the pink wire off the ignition wire which is a switched 12v. the (2) ground wires are bolted to the one ground point that’s directly above the hood release button. Now at idle and cruise the AFR value fluctuates as it should around 14.7. the more I apply throttle getting into WOT/Full throttle the AFR value goes to lean until at 100% throttle its pegged at 16.00. I scanned during the runs and theres ZERO knock or misfires.
Now the sensor ended up with a code saying SEN 1 so I replaced it with a new one and still the AFR value goes to 16.00 at WOT. Any ideas? I’m stumped

that sucks. its def not a ground issue. i originally had the ground wire bolted to one of the 4 steering column brackets thats against the firewall. it would suck if its the fuel pump (had a 98 firebird that also had a fuel pump issue). i'm going to change the fuel filter first and see if that helps it.

Hook it directly to the battery. If it's a permanent install, use a Ign 12V signal to trigger a relay to turn it on/off, but keep it directly fed from the battery, specially the ground.
That WB is very reliable, just calibrate it and you will be ok

It will be hooked to a relay, the ignition signal will trigger the relay to turn it on, but when it does it will make a direct connection to the battery. It is the same as hooking directly to the battery but it will turn on only when the ignition switch is on.

or this one would work better?
so:
87=NGK AFX power supply wire
86=switched 12v from like the igntion wire
85=chassis ground or even the negative terminal on battery?
30=in line fuse to positive terminal on battery
that looks right?

Changed the fuel filter. Wiped the inlet clean so i could test blowing through it. It was like blowing through a *thin* straw. I dunno if it was due to it being soaked in fuel but when i blew in the new one, had barely any resistance. Haven't rewired the wideband to the battery yet, still need to know what pins to connect.

Yea you are on the right track with those diagrams. I can't say for sure without seeing it cause i don't wanna be responsible haha!
But 85 and 86 is the coil let's say, one side is grounded and the other waits on your 12v key on signal.
When that energizes it throws the pole and connects 87 and 30.
In this case you'd have an open pin which i forget what number it was called.
Hope this helps some but if you look at the diagram on the relay you should be able to figure out what I'm calling the "coil" and the "switch".

The first diagram is the one to use. Hook the red wire from the wideband to the blue on pin 30.
If the filter was clogged, this will be the cause. Since it only happens at WOT, it's very likely

Did only 2 runs due to time constraint and didn't have enough room nor did i bring my laptop to log fml. Anyways, 2nd gear afr was ~13.5 so the fuel filter was the main (hopefully) issue. Going to log and richen it tomorrow morning and hopefully get it to around 12.8:1. Part throttle is like 11.8:1!
